Board Meeting 6-15-2013

The next "Friends of NAS Ottumwa" board meeting is scheduled for June 15th, 2013.  The meeting location is in the Airport Terminal Building's board room.  Meeting time is set for 1:00 p.m. 

Board meetings are always the third Saturday of each month in the Ottumwa Airport Terminal building at 1:00 p.m.  Variances to this schedule will be announced.

Discussion topics for this meeting are replacement of the concrete steps, install of the cupola, replacement of the front doorway, window choices for repair and replacement.  An update on President Stephen Blacks trip to Tucson where he and his wife met Apollo 7 Astronaut Walt Cunningham (Creston, Iowa native and Iowa Aviation Hall of Fame inductee), Mercury Astronaut and NAS Ottumwa alumni Scott Carpenter as well as other early Apollo and NASA folks. This included the opportunity to discuss this project with NASA suit and payload technician Ron Woods and Apollo 13 Astronaut Fred Haze.
